Celebrate National Poetry Month with Milkweed Editions! Join us for an evening honoring the vitality of the poetry community and three poets published in 2019 by Milkweed Editions: Lee Ann Roripaugh, Alex Lemon, and Su Hwang. Come for the poetry-themed drinks, stay for the actual poetry!

In tsunami vs. the fukushima 50, Lee Ann Roripaugh takes a piercing, witty, and ferocious look into the heart of disaster and “offers a path toward liberty through the chaos and confusion.” In Another Last Day, Alex Lemon’s flair for the dark absurd rings ever more true in this intensely vulnerable, book-length series that confronts “the brokenness of our world and the self that breaks with it.” In her debut collection Bodega (coming October 2019), Su Hwang witnesses the traumas and inequalities of race, immigration, and marginalization while coming of age in the ’80s and ’90s in New York City and offers a framework of moving forward with compassion.
