How to use Milkweed Editions's Submission Manager:

  1. Please review our submission guidelines before submitting a manuscript.
  2. Fill in all of your contact information. If you are submitting work for someone else, fill in your contact info and fill in the name of the person you are submitting for in the "writer name" field.
  3. Fill in the title of the work you are submitting.
  4. Use the browse button to find the file on your computer that you would like to submit. Select the file and click on the open button. Your file will then appear in the "file" field.
    • In order to be successfully uploaded, manuscript files must be smaller than 150KB (that's 0.15MB). Most three-chapter manuscripts (which is what we request in our submission guidelines) are about 100KB.
    • Do not include photographs or illustrations in your manuscript. We don't publish illustrated works, and photographs/illustrations make the manuscript file significantly larger.
    • We recommend saving your manuscript as a Word document (.doc or .docx) or plain text file (.txt).
  5. If you'd like to include a cover letter with your submission, please paste it into the "comments" field
  6. Click submit.
  7. You will then have the option to review your information and confirm that it is correct. Hit continue and you're done.
