John Armistead, a former pastor and teacher, was the religion editor of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal for many years. He is a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and the author of three adult novels, and two Milkweed novels for young readers, The $66 Summer and The Return of Gabriel. He lives with his family in Tupelo, Mississippi.
