Time Out Chicago Reviews Hospital for Bad Poets |
Time Out Chicago recently reviewed The Hospital for Bad Poets, finding much to praise in J.C. Hallman's short story collection. The review highlights Hallman's exciting mixture of traditional and inventive storytelling, saying, "the way he wrestles directly with ideas reminds us of authors like Kafka or Gogol" before pointing to one story in which "sexual, familial, and international politics all naturally come to a head in one of the best video-game action sequences to appear in fiction." All of Time Out Chicago's comments on The Hospital for Bad Poets can be found in their book reviews section.
