Quotes:"Here’s to all the sleepless souls in Night Out. It is
comforting to know there are others out there staring at the spackling
on the ceilings who see more than a place where the paint doesn’t
match.” —Tom Bodett
"Is there margarine in heaven? The empty restaurant is too public. Sweet dreams never are. Night Out comes at us in flashes —souls revealed in hotel lobbies and all-night diners. Scoop it up, and taste it at will.” —Lynne Rossetto Kasper, host of The Splendid Table, Public Radio International
"Wow!. . . These are accessible narrative poems containing miniature
stories. . . anyone who has ever spent any time perched on a stool or
in front of a Formica counter will find something entertaining." —The Bay Guardian lit.
"A delightful overviews of some of our best writers and best poems. . . . There’s much to admire in Night Out, about the places we go to experience the sensual.” —Riverfront Times, St. Louis
"I nod to the realization that so many contemporary American poems
locate their sources in these public venues wherein we purchase
temporary shelter, food, and drink. . . . This anthology touches on
realities of the ways we connect, with and among strangers.” —Small Press Magazine
